Ardeth Greene Kapp: President George Albert Smith wrote of his mother, "She was a strict disciplinarian, and we always knew that when she told us to do anything she meant it" (Arrington and Madsen, Mothers of the Prophets, p. 123). Few mothers will ever have the task of rearing a prophet of God, and those who do will likely not recognize it at the time. But every mother can know that her son or daughter is a god in embryo, with an eternal destiny far surpassing any earthly calling. The labor of motherhood is eternal in nature, and the consequences affect generations past, present, and future.
